Special Birthday Greeting for Catherine

Catherine,

Sorry we can't be there for your birthday but please know we're thinking about you. I hope you like our card and present. I hope it makes you feel as special as you really are.

Miss you and love you lots.

Pete and Di.

Friday 29 September

Today was really great, yes we had to work to start the day off but tonight was Pete's Family birthday Party. His birthday isn't until Sunday but this is his birthday weekend.

His Aunty June and Uncle Tony from Redditch came up especially to visit and spend the weekend with us.

But tonight was a big family meal and my sister Robyn and her partner Cheryl came over too. Aunty Chris had prepared an amazing Roast Turkey Dinner.. She says it was a practice for Christmas...

Pete had a great night and we had a special surprise for him... we got him an awesome Birthday Cake. Appropriately it had a clown on it.

We had a great night and are looking forward to tomorrow as we're off to Wales for the day to visit Llandudno...

Sunday 24 September - Continued...

Thanks Robyn!!

In the evening we went to visit Robyn and Cheryl at their home in Wilmslow.

They cooked an amazing meal for us, accept I can't remember what it was called but it was like Lasagne accept with Egg plant. If you are reading this Robyn please comment and let us know what it's called.

But check out the rose between the two thorns... hmmm... maybe not...

We had a great night together watching the X Factor. The Uk version is so funny, half the people they get on the show are still crazy though.

After Dinner Di left for another night shift at the MRI. For those of you who would like to see where she works check out this link. http://www.cmht.nwest.nhs.uk/hospitals/manchester_royal_infirmary.asp

After that Robyn and Cheryl took me back home to Middlewich.

Sunday 24 September

As you can see Aunty Chris loves our Blog!! She wants to make her own!!

Well I woke this morning to a very still and cloudy day... but it was soon brightened by the return of Di from her night shift. Di told me how she had spent the night looking after heaps of sick drunk people... More power to the nurses... She was so tired so I tucked her into bed (look how cute she is), had a bacon sandwich then headed off to the Army...

I went along to the Crewe Corps to check it out. We had a great meeting, think we will definately go back again, has heaps of potential. The officers we're really great and everyone made me feel welcome.

I came home and went for another walk down to my little piece of heaven... I love it...

Then of course I took the time to put our diary on the web for you all to enjoy.

Saturday 23 September

After a very busy week Di and I spent the day lounging around the house.

While Di watched the Golf With Uncle Paul and Aunty Chris I went for a 2 hour walk to Winsford as it was a glorious Day!!! Walking through fields, next to rivers, passed cows and sheep... glorious.. all just 10 minutes from our doorstep.

How's this for heaven at your doorstep?

When I got home we did some more lounging around watching Golf... the Ryder Cup is on at the moment (http://www.rydercup.com/2006/) so we're watching it all weekend. But we had to go shopping So Aunty Chris, Di and I went shopping at Morrisons at Winsford. When we came home we had lunch... then lounged some more...

About 7:45pm Di got ready for her night shift.

Aunty Chris had prepared some goodies for her!! We're so spoilt

Then it was off to work... sniff...

This morning none of us woke up till 9:30am... then we had a huge breakfast with an abundance of home made bread!! Yumm!!!!

We spent some time playing with Linda and David's new addition to the family.. their little baby Tortoise "TOM".

We let it run wild in the back garden until it started to chew the cement.. mmm...

Di couldn't resist nursing this precious little animal.

We left about 11:30am as Di had to get home to work a night shift... At night some friends of Uncle Paul and Aunty Chris came over for Dinner, Matt and Helen. Helen is quite pregnant due in December. We had a nice night and Di went off to work...

We arrived at about 3:30pm and spent the afternoon having a tour of their really great house then spent the rest of the afternoon in their garden catching up and chatting about family etc... In the evening we headed off to Bradford to the Adaab Balti for a curry, it was the best food!!! We were so full by the end

Here's us after a huge Curry meal!!! It was so good... After that we went home and watched the Grand Final of Maria!!! For all of you who don't know about this TV show visit

http://www.bbc.co.uk/maria/marias/connie_index.shtml

Basically Andrew Lloyd Webber is putting on The Sound of Music in London's West End and had a TV show to pick the person who plays Maria... (the guy in this picture is the host of the show)

YAY!!! Connie won!! Sorry Robyn... but we knew she'd win from the start as she even looks like Julie Andrews.

Then hit the sack... what a great day!!

Sunday 10 September

Today was great Di and i got to go to two corps in the Greater Manchester Division. In the morning we visited Stockport corps where we were pleased to meet up with Australian Captain David Eldridge and his wife from Melbourne. After the meeting we went back home to Middlewich for a huge roast lamb lunch that Aunty Chris had made for us, then we all had a sleep in the back yard for an hour.

At night Di and I went to the Sale Corps near Manchester to hear Margaret Yuill preach up a storm. It was an amazing sermon about standing tall in times of confusion, conflict and instability, basing her text on the story of God leading the Israelites out of Egypt through an unexpected route, the Red Sea. Both Di and I were able to meet up with Chick and Margaret, who we both deeply respect and admire and made a promise to catch up for lunch and a chat sometime soon. We are looking forward to spending time with Chick and Margaret while we're here in Manchester as they have so much to teach us, especially with everything that's been going on in their lives recently, and at least we'll have more time to see Chick now. They are really Godly, and amazing people, who actually received a standing ovation tonight, an extra sign to show how much they are loved by the Manchester Division. They aren't afraid to stand tall in times of confusion, conflict and instability, they follow God's leading even if it leads them on a path we least expect, that's why Di and I love them.

Saturday 9 September

Today Peter was caddy for Uncle Paul at a golf competition at the Vale Royal Golf course not too far from our house. It was the perfect day for a game of golf, and a day at the beach... well they didn't have the sea but there was plenty of sand... Ha.. not too much... Uncle Paul played a great game of golf.

After a great game of golf, Peter and Uncle Paul had breakfast... a big breakfast.. well peter did, uncle paul had pie peas and chips... yum.... The food here is soooooo gooood....
